Fans hoping Fergie plays blinder on visit
Alex Ferguson will visit Dublin to promote his new book following his retirement from the helm of Manchester United.
His own account of his life story will be published on October 23 and will be followed by a visit to several cities to promote the book.
The publisher Hodder & Stoughton in the UK says that Ferguson has been working on the book in secret for some time.
"Over the past four years, Sir Alex has been reflecting on and jotting down the highlights of his extraordinary career and in his new book he will reveal his amazing story as it unfolded," the publisher says.
Ferguson will be in Dublin on Friday, November 8, for a public interview with TV presenter and Man United fan Eamonn Holmes.
It will be a ticket-only evening event starting at 7.30pm in the 2,000-seater main auditorium at the National Convention Centre in Dublin. Tickets will be on sale from September 17 from www.Easons.com.
Tickets for the event will be €40 each but this will include a copy of the book which will be given to people as they arrive at the Convention Centre.
The 500-page hardback book will be priced at around €30.
