Drama of War Horse takes veterans back
TO the group of assembled war veterans, the wooden and material horse before them is more than just a puppet, he's a timely reminder of the past.
Joey, the star of hit stage show 'War Horse', yesterday came face to face with some British and Irish war veterans, who described the moment as emotional.
Amongst the select group assembled by the British Embassy was Pete McWilliams, the chairperson of the Irish branch of the RAF Association.
Both his grandfather and grand-uncle served in World War One.
He said when he saw the war tale on stage "it was exceptionally emotional".
"It kind of showed you how something like an animal can come in and bring a bit of sanity into the insanity that was going on."
