Panto queens Linda Martin and Twink will go head-to-head this Christmas as they both perform in separate Disney-style pantomimes.

The ‘grande dames' of Irish theatre have shared the stage before but this year they will be keeping the limelight for themselves.

Linda will play Gaston’s mother Moron in this year’s Beauty & the Beast, while Twink will play Widow Twinkee in Aladdin.

Both women were pictured holding adorable dogs while dressed in their panto attire.

Linda will wear a full-length, snow queen-like white gown and a glamorous sky-high silver crown.

Twink’s costume consists of a Chinese-style blue silk gown and a basket hat with flags poking out of it.

Eurovision star Linda confirmed back in 2010 that the pair had fallen out.

Tensions between the pair reached boiling point behind the scenes when the two leading ladies were co-starring in Menopause The Musical.

"It's true, I haven't spoken to her for several weeks," she told the Herald.

"Something happened a number of weeks ago but I consider myself a professional and I'm trying to move on from it."

She was also adamant that the tension between them never spilled over on the stage and their spat remained behind the scenes.

The duo also worked together on RTE's ‘You're A Star’ and were rumoured to be experiencing a personality clash.

Twink, whose real name is Adele King, will star in Limerick again this Christmas for another stint in the University Concert Hall, after a successful run last year in Cinderella.

“The first time I ever played the UCH years ago, from the very first time I stepped on that stage, there was something magic happened,” she told the Limerick Leader.

“You can’t put your finger on it, it is a connection with you and that audience and that venue. They treat me so well, they are so warm - the audience and the people in Limerick. Right from the Maxi, Dick and Twink days, I have had a great relationship with Limerick.”

The show runs from December 20 to January 5.

Linda will star alongside Jedward in The Dublin Bus Christmas Panto ‘Beauty & The Beast’ at the Olympia Theatre from December 18 to January 5.

“We have two shows a day for 17 days, and between performances our food is brought in, the kettle goes on, we get into our onesies and watch a DVD or have the craic,” she told independent.ie recently.
