WATCH: Irish flight delayed so trad session breaks out between passengers

Desmond Farrell

A pair of musicians cheered up fed-up passengers with an impromptu trad music session at an airport.

When the flight from Newcastle to Ireland was delayed by two hours on Sunday night, band Daoiri Farrell decided to salvage the situation.

'We came into the airport and the flight was delayed by nearly two hours', Daoiri told Independent.ie.

'We could tell that everyone was a little bit unhappy about this and Geoff (the banjo player in the video) suggested that we play a bit of a music session.

'I then proceeded to sing a song. I picked one that I thought everyone would know, 'Galway Girl' and it went down really well, Daoiri',  added.

This is one way to deal with a delayed flight.
