Serena Williams shuts down journalist who asks why she wasn’t smiling with epic comeback
Turns out, like the rest of us, Serena Williams isn't a morning person.
In the wake of beating her sister Venus in the US Open quarter final earlier this week, the tennis ace was obliged to give a press conference.
After enduring repetitive questions, Serena had enough when an Italian journalist named Ubaldo Scanagatta asked why she was rarely smiling or laughing.
Visibly ticked off, she essentially told the reporters in the room how it was - that she didn't really want to be there, she'd rather be in bed and that she was sick of answering their unoriginal questions.
"It’s 11.30. To be perfectly honest, I don’t want to be here. I just want to be in bed right now," the 33-year-old athlete confessed.
"You’re not making it super enjoyable," she continued.
