News reporter gets fright of her life from curious bystander - but takes it in good humour Newsdesk Newsdesk

Not everyone would handle getting a massive scare on live television quite as well as US news reporter Wendy Burch.

The seasoned broadcast journalist was shooting a live report from Los Angeles for KTLA 5 when a curious man crept up behind her without her knowledge.

However, it didn't take long for her to notice the mystery man as she let out a scream and successfully managed to just about avoid swearing on air.

"You scared the shhh out of me," she laughed, apparently seeing the funny side to it.

The videobomber seemed to be just as shocked as Burch herself, walking out of frame as a man out of camera snapped at him.

Unable to finish her report after catching a fit of the giggles, Ms Burch threw back to the studio.

Ms Burch has since took to her Facebook page after the video began to go viral.

"I've gone viral, baby! At last count, getting the bejeezus scared out me live on the KTLA Morning News has received over 500,000 views," she said.

"My friend Ethan, also posted on YouTube for you viewing pleasure. (This may even eclipse my now infamous 'mall fall' on Black Friday)"
