You've met viral Chewbacca woman, now meet the Chewbacca family
After the video of an ecstatic woman wearing a Chewbacca mask went viral at the weekend, there’s now an entire happy Chewbacca family.
Candace Payne from Texas uploaded a Facebook Live video on Friday of her wearing the mask and laughing in hysterics at the sound it made when she opened her mouth.
“I’m such a happy Chewbacca,” she said while in fits of laughter.
In the video, Candace said that she won’t be giving the mask to her son. “At the end of the day, this is mine that I bought and I’m going to keep it for my own,” she laughed.
“I’ll let you play with it. I’m not a bad mom,” she later added.
The video has gained over 135 million views since it was posted to Facebook and almost instantly gained viral status online.
The mask of the popular Star Wars character quickly sold out across the United States, but the department store where Candace bought it saw her video and continued to spread the happiness by giving one to each of Candace’s children.
Staff from the department store Kohl’s went to her house and presented Candace, her son and her daughter with huge hampers filled with Star Wars merchandise to thank her for being a “loyal customer” and of course for the massive exposure for the company.
A delighted Candace exclaimed “It’s like Christmas!” when she saw the boxes filled with Star Wars products, while her daughter said, “The whole family got the Chewbacca masks!”
The staff also presented her with $2500 worth of Kohl’s gift vouchers.
So the next time your friends tell you that only you find your Beyonce impersonation funny, don’t listen to them. Post it online and you might just be the next viral sensation.
