WATCH: Uncanny! Irish student abroad meets her doppelgänger
An Irish student travelling abroad was shocked to come across her ‘twin stranger’ at a college in Germany.
Ciara Murphy, from Wexford, is currently studying in Bremen, Germany where she met Cordelia Roberts, from the UK.
A couple of exclamations and a few selfies later, the duo have officially declared themselves ‘twin strangers’.
The two girls didn’t know each other before their trip to Germany and said they are flabbergasted to have met someone who looks so like them, without being related.
“I came over here totally alone, in an airport with three big bags, no clue where I was going,” Ciara said.
“I was going through security crying, but then obviously when I came here it started to get better.
“On nights out people asked me did I come here with a sister or twin but I didn’t know what they were talking about in the beginning, after a while I realised they were talking about Cordelia.”
The pair said they have yet to get sick of people’s exclamations when they see the duo together.
Cordelia Roberts, from the UK, said they decided to take a photograph which quickly garnered massive attention online.
“On nights out people were asking us were we sisters, I was like ‘no, but we could be I guess!’,” she said.
“Then we decided to take the photo that everyone started talking about.”
'Twin Strangers' - a group in Ireland that began a worldwide search for their doppelgänger a few months ago - hopped on a plane to meet Ciara and Cordelia and recorded the below video:
