WATCH: Longford locals, look away now! 'Tourism video' shows the county's hidden charm

It's a tourism ad, but not as we know it.

Longford may not be at the top of your travel list, but you'll be packing your bags after watching this convincing promo.

Friendly Longford native 'Mossie flood' walks us through just one of the understated scenarios that makes the Leinster county the place to be.

Mossie is played by Leitrim man Seamus O'Rourke, who acts, directs and writes his own performances with his theatre company 'Big Guerilla Productions'.

Most of Mr O'Rourke's plays focus on rural Ireland.

"I have a real affinity with these sort of guys who roam the Leitrim,Cavan and Longford countryside," he told Independent.ie.

"Longford people are great and like ourselves in Leitrim, they don’t mind having a good laugh at themselves."

The video, which was uploaded on Saturday has already racked up more than 100k views on Facebook, which Mr O'Rourke is delighted with.

"I’ve been overwhelmed with the response."

We're looking forward to seeing what county he lampoons next.
