WATCH: Irish mammy left speechless after daughter makes surprise trip home from Canada
This mammy was left dumbfounded after her daughter landed on her doorstep to celebrate Christmas with her.
Imelda McKenna (26) hasn't been back to her Listowel home since she left close to two years ago, so her mother Angela reacted with pure shock when she knocked on the door.
Imelda, who lived in Regina and Saskatchewan since moving home, said she didn't expect her mother's reaction.
"Nobody knew we were coming home, we wanted to make sure it was a big surprise," she told Independent.ie.
"I was expecting her to be shocked, but not going to be that stunned. We went inside afterwards and she kept staring at me."
The Kerry native is now happy to settle back in Ireland for a while after leaving the icy weather in Canada.
"When we left it was -41 degrees Celsius. It's hard to breathe when you're walking down the street," she said.
Imelda is now waiting to see if her brother will pay a surprise visit home for Christmas, as he too lives in Canada.
"She'd probably have a heart attack if he did," she joked.
