VIDEO: Youtube phenomenon Alfie Deyes causes Irish teenage hysteria as hundreds turn up to meet him in Dublin Newsdesk Newsdesk

The arrival of popular Youtuber Alfie Deyes caused teenage hysteria as hundreds of people queued up for the chance to meet him on Dublin’s O’Connell Street this afternoon.

The vlogger, who has amassed more than 4.3m subscribers on his ‘Pointless’ channel since its 2009 launch, drew hundreds of teenage supporters from all over the country to his book signing in Eason’s.

More than 10,000 people applied for tickets to meet the famous Youtuber who is now internationally recognised for his content.

“I’m going to die. I’m overwhelmed. I can’t even describe it. I’m shaking. He’s the most amazing person in the world,” said Rebecca from Wexford.

“I’ve been watching him for about three years now and you never think you’re going to meet him at all. I’m just delighted to be able to meet him and that he’s here,” said Catherine from Meath.

“I feel like I’m about to explode, honestly,” said Leah from Belfast.

Alfie was in Dublin to sign copies of his new book Pointless 2 and to pose for pictures with excited fans.

“Hey Guys, thanks so much for having me here in Dublin. I’m having an amazing time. Check out my new book. I hope you enjoy it. Thanks so much for the support it has been crazy. I want to come back soon. I want to come back,” Alfie said.
