Video: Is this Irish supermarket selling a live 'Brazilian' spider in a bag of bananas?
A video appearing to show a bag of bananas on sale at a supermarket in Ireland is attracting a great deal of attention - and disgust - online.
The footage - which has reportedly been filmed in Kilkenny - is taken by a woman who was allegedly making the purchase of the fruit.
"I'm sorry, I'm actually going to get this on video," the woman who is not seen in the footage can be heard saying in the clip.
"You can't sell this - this is not an Irish spider."
The alleged shopkeeper - who also remains offscreen - responds in a agitated manner.
"It's just a spider is all it is, you don't have to buy it," he says.
The female 'shopper' continues to insist that the spider is "dangerous" and probably originates from Brazil, where she says she has travelled herself.
"I'll give you Brazilian spider," the shopkeeper replies.
The 32 second video clip, which focuses entirely on the bag of bananas and the moving spider, has featured on a humorous Irish Facebook page.
Questions have been raised as to the authenticity of the clip, which has already garnered over 35,000 views on this account alone.
