The long awaited clash between DCUtv's news team and TrinityTV was caught on camera, with hilarious results. And it's all for charity.

As publicity for their 24 hour charity TV event, the DCU Media Production Society joined their TCD colleagues to re-enact the famous news-team street brawl from the movie Anchorman.

DCUtv will begin their 24 hour broadcast on Friday 6th December and hope to raise €4,000 in vital funds for the Make-A-Wish-Foundation.

The DCU Media Production Society, in association with Bank of Ireland, have recruited over 100 volunteers to create 24 hours of original programming for the broadcast. The schedule is packed with a range of different shows and will even feature a toy show.

DCUtv X-Factor will also take place on the night, where brave souls vie for the chance to release a Christmas single.

DCUtv station manager, Kenneth Browne, says “we do this every year. Last year it was watched by thousands of people and we made over €2,500 for Make-A-Wish. Now we’re going bigger and better and want to raise even more for the charity - as much as we can.”

The TV marathon kicks off at 10pm Friday December 6th and finishes 10pm December 7th. You can watch live and donate online at and help make a child’s wish come true this Christmas.
