A video of a congresswoman being interrupted last night on MSNBC for 'breaking news' of Justin Bieber's car chase has been viewed over 700,000 times overnight.

Social media users were outraged last night when a MSNBC segment was interrupted for "breaking news" relating to Justin Bieber's arrest.

A clip of the segment has gone viral with over 700,000 views on YouTube overnight.

The segment was on the NSA phone scandal, when the congresswoman discussing the findings of a Government task force on the issue was cut short by the newscaster. "Congresswoman, let me interrupt you just for a moment, we have some breaking news right now from Miami."

The newscast then cut to a live feed from Miami where Bieber was "appearing before a judge on his bond hearing".

Many viewers were outraged at the clip, leaving comments like 'Wow... how is that for journalistic priorities!' and "Just goes to show, sensationalism supersedes things that will inevitably determine our fate".
