CHRISTMAS has come early for one lucky golden Labrador and its owners, after he was dramatically rescued from the sea.

The incident occurred when the dog and his owner where going for a walk on Sunday morning and the Labrador was swept out to sea by the tide at Sea Palling, in Norfolk, Northern England.

A group of kayakers helped the dog’s owner search for him but there was no sign.

The owner then contacted the RNLI about his dog, before heading home to tell his family about their loss.

However the Norfolk RNLI volunteers eventually located the cold and terrified dog after she was washed up on a nearby reef.

The footage shows a volunteer swimming over to the stranded dog and the touching moment the Labrador was rescued and lifted into the lifeboat.

After landing on the beach, the dog was smothered with warm blankets and lots of love.
