Twitter users that met their significant other through the social networking platform are sharing screenshots of their online introductions with the hashtag #ShootYourShot2015.

Finding your other half on Twitter sounds like an unlikely occurrence but according to the hashtag #ShootYourShot2015 it has happened for many people around the world.

Most of the relationships featured began via direct message, with one user direct messaging the other out of the blue.

Some of the couples knew each other in real life but it took the safety of social media to get them talking but many others just spotted someone they liked on the social media site and went for it.

One user (@gsnato_) shared a screenshot in which he asked a classmate about homework, writing that he had known they did not have any homework. He also posted a photograph of the two dancing at the school prom just under six months later.
