Vlogger battles, comedy skits, and Hurricane Lorenzo feature among the most-watched YouTube videos in Ireland over the past 12 months.

Top of the list of most-watched for YouTube Rewind 2019 - excluding videos by major label artists - is a video by vlogger James Charles.

US make-up artist and content creator Charles became embroiled in a public battle with former friend and mentor Tati Westbrook, who made several allegations about him in a YouTube video which went viral.

Westbrook's video 'BYE SISTER' prompted a response from Charles in the form of a 41 minute video, 'No More Lies', in which he addressed the allegactions and put forth his side of the story.

Ireland was enthralled and Charles' video became the most-watched video in the country this year.

Another vlogger claims the second spot on the list.

YouTube star Shane Dawson's video, ‘Conspiracy Theories with Shane Dawson’, sees him tackle a series of popular conspiracy theories with his friends.

We also love nothing more than to send ourselves up so it's no surprise that videos from The 2 Johnnies and comedy trio Foil, Arms and Hog are also on the list.

The 2 Johnnies' video, ‘Could Have Been County’, pokes fun at the GAA while Foil, Arms and Hog, ‘When Irish people Can’t Speak English’ is a comedic take on what can happen when you lie about your ability to speak fluent Irish.

Also featuring at number five on the list is the viral video of eggs, which was made with the sole purpose of becoming the second most-liked non-music video on YouTube.  It tied in with the Instagram post of an egg which aimed to get more likes than Kylie Jenner's most-liked Insta post.

Our national weather obsession is evident in the fact that 'Hurricane Lorenzo Weather Warning' also makes the list of top videos of the year.

Irish viewers were also compelled to watch David Beckham falling hook, line, and statue for a prank staged by presenter James Corden.

'The David Beckham Statue Prank' sees Corden unveiling a statue that looks nothing like Beckham, prompting an embarrassed and frustrated response from the former footballer before he twigs the joke.

Next to the weather, we are also a nation obsessed with chicken wings, it seems, as 'Gordon Ramsay Savagely Critiques Spicy Wings' also makes the top 10.

Video of the Day

Elsewhere, topping the list of the most-watched music videos of the year is, unsurprisingly, Billie Eilish's Bad Guy.

She's followed by Lil Nas X and Stormzy with Shawn Mendes and Camilla Cabello's Senorita also enrapturing Irish audiences.
