A YouTube video of a clown covering the popular song 'Royals' by 16-year old 'Lorde' has been viewed over 1.7m times in three days.

The oddly haunting cover version features 'Puddles, ' the "seven-foot tall sad clown with a voice like Tom Jones".

'Puddles' walks into the frame, places a bottle of alcohol and a sign reading 'Puddles Pity' down and begins to sing.

Scott Bradlee uploaded the video on the 31st of October. Bradlee has over 200,000 subscribers and is known for his unusual cover versions of popular songs, often featuring him on the piano and guests on vocals. His most popular upload is a cover of Miley Cyrus' 'We can't stop', sung in the style of 'Vintage 1950's Doo Wop'.
