RTE's Sharon Ni Bheolain goes viral for 'unimpressed' face on the Six One News

The latest Irish news blooper is courtesy of RTE's Sharon Ní Bheoláin.

The newscaster was captured on live news watching the previous segment before realising that she was on air.

She continued reading the news, subject to a few stifled giggles.

While the slipup was for a split second, Irish twitter and Reddit users were quick to share the moment across social media.

Comments on Reddit are not negative about the mishap, instead (unfortunately) focusing mostly on the appearance of the respected newscaster.

The giddiness in the studio began following a segment on tennis players in which female tennis player Eugenie Bouchard (19) was asked on court who she would like to date, to which she replied 'Justin Beiber'.

Upon return to the studio, Eamon Horan cracked 'Incidentially, Marty Morrisey came a close second', which prompted loud laughing in the background from Brian Dobson and Sharon.

The exchange sparked a thread on boards where users were in support of the news readers, saying "it's nice to see people laughing".

You can watch the tennis player exchange below and watch Sharon's blooper above.

Reaction online to the fun in the Six One studio was positive.

RTE newsreader Sharon Ni Bheolain was recently hotly tipped as the new face of UTV in Ireland. The stories were sparked by an interview that Sharon (42) gave to the RTE Guide in which the presenter said that, while she enjoyed working in TV news, she was "ready for something new".

Following the Six One celebrating 25 years on the air, Sharon Ni Bheolain said she often describes the programme as a "beast".

"It's fairly tame on a news day where the agenda is more or less set, but when the running order gets thrown out the window, and when all hell breaks loose, that beast can take off – and all you can do as a presenter is just hang on for dear life."
