The Rose of Tralee is more popular than ever with over 52,000 tweets sent with the hashtag #RoseOfTralee.

The hashtag trended worldwide, peaking at 140 tweets a minute at 11.29pm on August 18th - the moment the Meath Rose was crowned the 2015 Rose Of Tralee.

The announcement of the winner was retweeted over 150 times while Elysha Brennan's esctastic 'new rose selfie' was retweeted over 46 times - beaten only by Daithi O'Shea's stage selfie, with 97 retweets.

The most popular image on Twitter was one of a support banner for Elysha, using a picture of Brennan's bread and reading 'today's Rose today'.

The festival embraced social media like never before, fully utilising Snapchat to document the festival as it happened.

A 'Twitter mirror' was spotted in many of the Roses' hands, which allowed them to take selfies and post online with a #RoseOfTralee watermark.
