Mick Freer (79) is trying to trace a lady called Bridie Fortune, who he met on November 15th, 1958 in Lansdowne Road, Dublin.

The pair hit it off when they met after a rugby game between Leicester Tigetrs and Celtic Rangers, in which Mick was playing.

They promised to keep in touch and met once more in 1961, when Bridie was living in London.

Much to Mick's regret, he never met her again.

And now the elderly man would love to meet this woman. Mick's wife died four years ago.

“She would have been in her late teens/early 20s when we met. We initially met at a rubgy dance at Landsdown Road.”

“She was a very attractive."

“I was about 24 at the time. I met her again in London in 1961, and she’d had tickets to go to Billy Liar.”

“I feel as if I’ve let her down because I had to go back to work – I was in the police at the time.”

“I'm not sure if she remained in England or went back to Ireland. It’s a bit of a needle in a haystack really.”

"But I'd love to meet her."
