'Life made, meal ruined' - Brian O'Driscoll meets internet sensation 'Salt Bae'
Brian O'Driscoll just met the world's most famous internet sensation.
'Salt Bae' (real name: Nusret Gökçe), the Turkish chef that spawned a million memes after a photo of him flamboyantly seasoning a steak went viral, just added another celebrity name to his fan base in the form of Brian O'Driscoll.
The Irish rugby legend posed with the pop culture phenomenon at the Laureus World Sports Awards in Monte Carlo on Tuesday night and looked pretty chuffed with himself.
He even managed to to get Gökçe to pose for the photo using his sensual sodium shower finger flick.
While Salt Bae was there, he salted the food of Olympic gold medalist gymnast and Laureus World Sportswoman of the Year Simone Biles. Her delighted mother captured the moment on camera.
The famous chef has already seasoned Leonardo Di Caprio's steak, has inspired Rihanna's fashion choices and has seen football stars like Danny Welbeck, Mesut Ozil and Welsh rugby player Jonathan Davies attempt his famous Salt Bae pose.
Gökçe has seen his Instagram account climb to 3.8 million followers after his Ottoman steak video became a global sensation, garnering almost 10 million views in less than a month.
Salt Bae has become so popular that he’s landed his own steakhouse in New York.
His bio states that he has restaurants in Turkey, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and “very soon all the world.”
