A dog has become a viral video sensation after it interrupted a newsreader during a live broadcast.

The news anchor, called Linarte, paused her broadcast when she heard a dog bark in the studio.

The black labrador then approached the desk, before climbing up onto the desk in front of the cameras.

The news anchor said in Russian: "I’ve got a dog here. What is this dog doing in the studio?"

After showing some discomfort at the presence of a dog, she continued: "I actually prefer cats."

The clip, originally uploaded to YouTube, was quickly viewed by more than 3 million people.
