Did you know Instagram also has a secret inbox for message requests?

Much like their pals at Facebook, who implemented the famous 'Other' inbox in your messages, people are freaking out over Instagram's version.

The regular Instagram inbox is available through the little tray icon in the top right corner and turns pink if you've received a message.

You have to accept the user's request before you can open the message. Even if you don't have notifications, click your inbox and you'll see 'Message Requests' just below.

I've taken the liberty of pixellating my messages except for a photo of a dog with a duckling on its head because these are the kind of ground-breaking things I get in my inbox.

Once you click into Message Requests, you'll see an array of messages you've missed out on. In my case, an array is four.

And now you know.
