Irish Twitter users are coming out in support of Sinead O' Connor after Miley Cyrus mocked her mental health issues on the social networking site.

It would seem Cyrus is alienating her Irish fan contingent as the majority of Irish Twitter users are declaring themselves on #TeamSinead.

We asked if users were taking sides in the feud and the overwhelming majority are siding with O' Connor.

The online feud began as admiration, when Cyrus described her new video as being inspired by O' Connor's famous 'Nothing Compares to You' video, "just the most modern version".

O' Connor wrote an open letter to Cyrus, warning her of the perils of the music industry, to which Cyrus responded by mocking Sinead's past mental health issues and tweeting she was 'too busy' to reply. Sinead's third open letter to the star went online last night, in which O' Connor blasted the young singer for mocking mental health, and dragging Amandy Bynes' name into the exchanges.
