A loving declaration written on a €20 note by an Irish woman called 'Megan' has gone viral.

The adorable message, written in blue biro reads: "Christy, it's always been you! Come and find me - Megan x".

Denise O'Reilly from Co Meath was surprised to find evidence of the poetic gesture when she opened her purse on Sunday morning.

Denise, a Supervalu Kells employee, shared a photo of the message on her Facebook page, hoping to bring star-crossed lovers Megan and Christy back together.

“Found this is my purse this morning! Ah Christy, she loves you! Go get your girl. Come on people and share,” Denise wrote.

The nation quickly responded and her Facebook post has been shared nearly 16,000 times.

A romantic gesture, combined with Denise's quick thinking, seems to have had the desired result.

Christy, a young Dublin-based musician posted a cryptic message on Denise's Facebook page saying : “Hey, just quick update: I’ve been in touch with Megan and it’s all good. Thanks so much for posting.”

Ahh, doesn't everyone love a happy ending.
