A four-year old has gone viral for a letter written to the Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott asking him to allow gay marriage.

SABRINA Franco, from Western Sydney, wrote a Disney-princess themed letter to the Australian Prime Minister urging him to legalise same-sex marriage in her country. "Let boys marry boys and girls marry girls if they love each other or they’ll be sad forever."

The four-year-old wrote the letter following learning of her mother's friends having to travel to New York to get married, where it is legal to do so.

Lukas Picton, one half of the aforementioned couple, told the Australian LGBT News website the Star Observer that he was "touched by Sabrina’s gesture", and impressed with her understanding.

“Not only does Sabrina have an excellent grasp of the English language for a four year-old, but she is also incredibly social aware,” he said.

“This letter really shows that prejudice and discrimination are ingrained traits that we teach our children and that acceptance and understanding of equal love comes naturally to them.”

Sabrina also requested that Abbot not cut the ABC funding. "Don’t get rid of the ABC because we love it"

According to the Star Observer, Tony Abbot has not responded to efforts to contact him.
