VIDEO: Magician proposes with Alphabet Soup trick Newsdesk Newsdesk

For most people proposing to someone is a nerve-wracking, scary experience, but for Neil Henry its all just part of the show.

The comic-magician proposed to his girlfriend onstage at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with a magic trick.

The magician drank a glass of alphabet soup and called his partner on stage.

He then pulled a long string out of his mouth with a number of letters attached.

The letters that emerged from Henry's mouth were M-A-R-R-Y M-E or "marry me".

His partner, Charlie Gardner, was shocked but happily said yes when he produced the ring.

"Having you in my life is real magic," he said.

"And I never want that magic to end."

Henry will be delighted he used a piece of string to officially tie the knot.
