Imagine meeting one of the world’s biggest sports stars on the one day you forget your phone at home!
That’s what happened to a young Conor McGregor fan who met her idol earlier this week, but was devastated to discover she didn’t have a camera to capture the moment.
Luckily for her, The Notorious posted a photo of the pair on his Instagram account, sharing the image with his 7m followers.
“To the little lady who left her phone at home,” he wrote in a post that has been liked more than 590k.
Meanwhile, McGregor is preparing to face Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205 on November 12.
The bout will take place at Madison Square Garden, with Irishman McGregor looking to become the first two-weight world champion in UFC history, on the first card to be staged in New York for 20 years.
"This is the fight the fans wanted," UFC president Dana White told ESPN.
American Alvarez has won 24 of his 28 fights.
It's been a tense few weeks of negotiations, but it has finally been made official – UFC 205 will be headlined by Conor McGregor taking on Eddie Alvarez in a champion-versus-champion super fight on November 12 at New York, Madison Square Garden.
By dint of simply knowing better, few people took Dana White at his word when he told us that Conor McGregor would not be challenging Eddie Alvarez for the lightweight title at UFC 205 in Madison Square Garden and, last night, the Dubliner’s growing influence within the organisation was more evident than ever.
