Trees might be falling across the country but not even Storm Barney can stop Christmas.

Earlier today worker crews erected a 50-foot high Christmas tree in the centre of the Custom House Quarter in Dublin.

The giant evergreen is to be the centrepiece of I BELIEVE, Ireland’s first ever ‘Winter Food, Drink, Craft and Horticulture Festival.

The inaugural lighting ceremony for the tree is due to take place next Thursday, 26 November, at 5pm and will make the beginning of the festival.

Free and open to the public, I BELIEVE will runs until December 23, and feature food and craft markets, as well as pop-bars and daily visits from Santa.
