Bairbre Power... Out and about
The sisters were out in force for the launch of the Perrier-Jouët 'Art of the Wilde' summer menu at Wilde restaurant in The Westbury. Sarah Lynch was snapped with her sister, artist Helen Steele, whose artwork decorates the vibrant menu cover and matches the colourful blooms by Ruth Monahan of Appassionata.
The other sisters I chatted to on the evening were (3) Gillian Quinn, sporting a very gamine elfin crop, and her PR sister Valerie Roe. Patrick McArdle, GM at Wilde, and Philip Dunne, head sommelier, talked us through a flight of champagne and we had the first sips of Blanc de Blancs, the new cuvée from Perrier-Jouët, which tastes divine but even nicer when enjoyed in the Belle Époque flute glasses decorated with beautiful anemones - an artistic collaboration with Art Nouveau pioneer Émile Gallé.

It's hard not to be impressed by tenacious businesswoman (2) Ali Chawke, pictured here with her husband, Peter Morrissey, at the launch of her new Wine & Tapas Bar at The Old Orchard on Rathfarnham's Butterfield Avenue. Ali really is a chip off the old block. Her dad is publican Charlie Chawke, who bought the pub in Rathfarnham for €22m. Ali has been running it and decided to introduce a tapas bar. She hosted the party just 16 days after giving birth to her third child - a daughter named Harriet. Be sure and order the Pescado y Papas Fritas (that's fish and chips made with monkfish). Yum.
