Bairbre Power

The build up to the annual Arc fashion show is always great fun, with a slice of pizza and pre-show drinks hosted by Rhona Blake in Bellucci, Dublin 4.

Guests and clients of PR firm FleishmanHillard only have to hop across the road to the RDS Library for the show. There I met former tánaiste and Fine Gael MEP candidate Frances Fitzgerald. She has the comfy shoes all ready for the Euro hustings in the Dublin constituency.

On the night, she was the woman in red photographed with former Primark director, Breege O'Donoghue, who is much in demand in business circles and has a wonderful eye for fashion. Breege looked fab in a gold velvet jumpsuit and quipped to me "it's a bit of fun". The highlight of the evening was the ARC Angels sequence in which four women who have experienced cancer took to the runway to model a pearls collection by Helena Malone and they received a standing ovation from the audience.

Róisín Tierney Crowe, head of communications at L'Oreal Ireland Luxe and Consumer Products Divisions hosted a très chic lunch at Dublin's Grayson celebrating Mother's Day with IT Cosmetics.

Roisin was photographed with her mother, Mary while stylist to the stars, Ingrid Hoey was the picture of summer with her lemon top and she came with her mother, Anne Keogh, below. IT Cosmetics launched here last summer and is hugely popular because of its skin care products and anti-aging technology.

Grapevine

Dinner and a show is becoming all the rage. Noni Stapleton appears at the Mayfield Eaterie in Terenure on April 11 in Charolais, a black comedy she wrote about one woman's intense rivalry with a sneery mother-in-law and a sexy French cow! It's BYOW too.

Mairead Ronan, the first female winner of Dancing with the Stars, pictured with Marian Finucance at the Arc Show, is back being supermum and driving her Faro hairbrush business. Mairead began the venture as part of a quest to manage her own frizzy hair, and has succeeded in taming it in style.
