Bairbre Power... Out and about
As a social diarist, I love the chat and the conversations I have along the way and, as fashion editor with a hawk-eye, I love the clothes I come across at the various parties. How wow did interior designer Suzie McAdam look when she was photographed with Dermot Bannon at the Miele Future of Living event?
Andreas Enslin, Head of Design at Miele, discussed how future trends will shape the way we live. The event took place in Lansdowne Place, a luxury residential development in the heart of Dublin 4, and I enquired about the cool wine corduroy jumpsuit which made her look like a Bond Girl. "It's handy for morning meetings," said Suzie who told me she will be opening a new showroom in Monkstown in 2019 where she plans to have mid-century pieces and vintage too, including Japanese screens and some South African sofas in leopard print!
Chef Clodagh McKenna was also looking very glam in a striped sequinned number when she was photographed with Aoife Donohoe at the Tesco 2018 Christmas Showcase in Dublin's Odeon venue. I recognised the dress as being the F&F 'hero' dress from the new party wear collection sold in the supermarket chain - it costs €51. You can never beat black lace for the party season and Anne Marie Fenton (below) wore it when she was photographed with Rhona Blake who had a dress named after her in the first Lennon Courtney collection. They were snapped at the launch of 'Inspired By Centra' in The Alex Hotel in which the food chain aims to bring a little bit of luxury to your evening, whatever the occasion.
One hundred Vogue covers later, congrats to Charlotte Tilbury who flew from doing make up at the Victoria Secret's show in NYC to collect her MBE at Buckingham Palace for services to the beauty and cosmetics industry.
Congrats to Galway girl Maura O’Donnell who has been appointed GM of the House Hotel in Galway’s lively Latin Quarter. She was pictured with Gary McMahon from Galway City Council at the launch of the newly refurbished Yard Kitchen and Bar in the boutique hotel.
