The Culturefox website aims to transform how people source information about Ireland's cultural and creative events.
Irish actor Don Wycherley, of Bachelors Walk and Father Ted fame, helped launch the all-new site today.
Culturefox is a free online arts events guide, that boasts an easily navigable design, a new range of features and advanced photography and video capabilities.
Arts enthusiasts who peruse the site have the option to personalise it to their tastes, with ‘bookmark’ and ‘reminder’ functions.
The site will encompass theatre, music, literature, visual arts, comedy, museums, and everything in between.
There will also be dedicated sections for free events and those catered specifically for families.
Independent.ie will be partnering with the Arts Council on the new site, which combines technological sophistication with great content.
Speaking today, Lia Bresnihan Head of Marketing, Digital, said,
“We think Culturefox will transform how people seek out and promote arts events in Ireland. Approximately 700,000 users visit the entertainment section of Independent.ie on a monthly basis, so we are delighted to bring them the additional service of a complete set of arts and entertainment listings from all across Ireland.”
The site will be closely linked with social media platforms Facebook and Twitter, encouraging increased interaction between event organisers and the general public.
Culturefox hopes to ensure that the arts sector has the optimum tools to reach out to a public that is keen to enjoy great art,” Sheila Pratschke, Chair of the Arts Council, added.
