Alisah Bonaobra has become the latest X Factor contestant to be eliminated from the competition.

The wannabe pop star from the Philippines said she was grateful for the experience and had not expected to do so well as she received her marching orders from the ITV programme.

“I can’t believe I did it – thank you,” she said.

Bonaobra’s rendition of George Michael’s Praying For Time had a mixed reaction from the judges, with Louis Walsh declaring she was “a little Filipino tigress” but Simon Cowell suggesting she was headed for a career as a wedding singer.

“There was too much cream in the coffee,” he said, adding that the contestant’s performance was “old-fashioned”.

There was better news for Lloyd Macey, who was crowned winner of the night and went on to win the Prize Fight against Saturday night’s winner Kevin Davy White.

Macey has now won the chance to open for Little Mix at one of their shows.
