AJ Pritchard defends brother Curtis on Love Island: He didn’t cheat on Amy
The Strictly dancer said that Amy should trust in Curtis, despite his actions.
Strictly Come Dancing’s AJ Pritchard has defended his brother Curtis, who has admitted to being interested in another girl on Love Island and apologised for upsetting his partner Amy Hart.
AJ said that Curtis did not technically cheat on Amy, and that he believes his brother is sometimes too honest.
In Wednesday’s episode of the reality show, Curtis and Amy’s romance hit a rocky patch when he confessed that his head had been turned by newcomer Jourdan Raine while Amy was in the Casa Amor villa for a few days.

Amy was distraught, telling Curtis – her partner throughout the whole series so far – that he had made her feel “worthless”.
AJ has said that Amy should put her trust in his brother, who kissed Jourdan during a challenge, but that he wishes Curtis had not been so blunt with Amy about his feelings.
AJ told ITV’s Lorraine: “Curtis wears his heart on his sleeve.
“He’s so honest, he literally can’t lie and that’s sometimes his downfall, because sometimes I’m like, ‘Curtis, say it this way and it may come across nicer than the way you’ve said it.’
“But the thing is, it’s important, with Amy and Curtis now… the other girls are blocking Amy and they don’t want Curtis to come in and talk, whereas, I tweeted last night, that Curtis should just go.
“My advice, not that he can hear me, was just go and talk to Amy and say exactly how you feel.
“It’s been portrayed that he’s kind of cheated on her; yes he kissed another girl but that was in a task, he still slept outside with Tommy in the bed and nothing happened regarding outside.”
Of Amy, who has never been in a relationship before, AJ said: “In any relationship you go through these different stages and Amy’s never been in that relationship before, and I feel like she does have to trust in Curtis.
“I know it is hard, but from the outside we don’t always see what’s happening inside the villa.”
The professional dancer added: “I think he should stay with Amy, because Curtis does what he feels and he wants to get back with her, the little blip with Jourdan, it was proving to him, ‘No, Amy’s the person that I do like and do want to get with’.”
Amy was distraught when she first learned that Curtis had kissed Jourdan, and that he had considered coupling up with her, saying she was “someone’s back-up plan yet again”.
However, her anger kicked in when Curtis told her the main problem between them was that she did not trust in their relationship enough.
“I’m so angry and he’s not f****** sleeping in my bed tonight,” she told the other girls.
Amy later approached Curtis for a chat and told him: “I was coming back here to tell you that I loved you.”
“I feel like I deserve better than to be basically cheated on,” she said.
“You have made me feel like an utter mug.”
Brushing off his apologies, she told him: “If you cared about me you wouldn’t have done that.”
She later broke down in tears, saying she had thought Curtis was her “future”.
Love Island continues on ITV2.
