A chance to slip on dorothy's shoes

The iconic red slippers worn by Judy Garland in The Wizard of Oz are to go under the hammer in Los Angeles later this year.

The shoes up for auction are believed to be those worn by Dorothy in the famous scene where she clicks her heels together to return to Kansas and they're expected to fetch up to $3m.

Sign of the times

The way up to the famous Hollywood sign was once a carefully guarded secret, but thanks to the joys of satnav and the internet, the quiet residential area above the Cahuenga Pass has become clogged with tourists, to the fury of local residents, who have posted signs saying: 'Tourists Go Away'.

Remaking the classics Universal Studios have announced that they intend to produce a new version of Scarface, the classic gangster story that's already inspired two films.

While the 1932 original was based on the life of Al Capone, Brian De Palma's more famous 1983 version was set in Florida's Cuban underworld and starred Al Pacino. The new film will borrow elements from both films.
