Digital Edition Farming

Every Tuesday get the Farming Independent delivered straight to your tablet, phone or laptop.

The Farming Independent is published every Tuesday as a supplement with the Irish Independent newspaper. It covers all aspects of agriculture, including news, features, and technical and political analysis. Regular features include forestry, machinery, horses, farm finance, property, classifieds, along with dairy, beef, sheep and tillage husbandry advice.

The team is headed by editor Louise Hogan, deputy editor Ronnie Bellew and reporter Claire Fox. Jim O’Brien handles property; Martin Ryan travels to marts around the country for the pedigree pages; Derek Casey covers machinery; Martin Coughlan writes our beef and sheep trends; Ann Fitzgerald writes a column on topical subjects; John Downing gets to grips agriculture and politics; Siobhan English reports on the horse industry; while Teagasc’s Steven Meyen writes on forestry. We also have a panel of 13 experts on each of the key farm enterprises.

Gordon Peppard delivers key updates on the Greenacres calf-to-beef programme, while we also follow individual farmers as they grow their sheep business with SheepTech.

First with Farming news and views every Tuesday.
