US power firm plans $700m bid for Enron
AN audacious bid to take over Enron for just $700m is planned by a little-known US power plant firm. The offer, from Standard Power & Light, a private company based in Illinois, was revealed as Enron cut 4,000 jobs at its headquarters in Houston, Texas.
