Aer Lingus owner International Airlines Group (IAG) will not make a bid to buy Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (Norwegian) and plans to sell its 3.93pc stake in the business.

Willie Walsh led IAG bought the stake in Norwegian last year and said it was interested in buying it outright, but Walsh ruled out getting into a bidding war to secure control of its much smaller rival.
