TTM to treble business with UK growth
TTM Healthcare has invested €3m in its Co Clare operation and aims to treble revenue to €200m from the buoyant medical recruitment market.
The Ennis-headquartered company - which was founded by former Irish international boxer Brian Crowley - plans to further expand its reach in the British market despite concerns over Brexit.
The recruitment specialist already recruits one in five National Health Service (NHS) nurses in that country and has become a "one-stop shop" for the health industry, its managing director Paula McDonnell told the Sunday Independent.
The business - which was set up in 2002 but has expanded rapidly since private-equity firm Broadlake bought a stake in 2016 - employs 140 people at its Ennis HQ, making it one of the larger employers in the mid-west area.
The firm has as many as 3,500 doctors, nurses and other medical personnel on its books at any one time, but McDonnell said it is planning to look to expand beyond its traditional healthcare remit into related and other areas.
"There are lots of related sectors to health that we may explore at some point and I think we would add huge value into those markets with the type of experience that we have," said McDonnell.
Expansion opportunities for the company are mainly in the UK, she said. "But it will all be done from here. We'll always invest in great talent in London, Manchester and Dublin but when we look for an employee we generally look for them here in the Ennis office first."
