WATCH: James Corden's new Apple Music ad has split opinion

James Corden typically doesn't split opinion quite as much as most celebs. By almost all accounts his Carpool Karaoke segment, which has helped him break America, has been considered a huge hit.

So taking him on to promote a streaming music service doesn't seem like the most abstract idea in the world.

Apple have decided to do just that, casting him in a role where he pitches ad ideas to the iPhone-makers own executives.

The back and forth has Corden flying in and out of different scenarios, including one where he resembles one David Bowie.

The ad, which was debuted at the Emmys this week, has received a mixed reception with some believing Apple could do better.

For those eagle eyed football fans you'll notice Corden's license plate at 48 second, which reads 'WHU16' an ode to his beloved West Ham United.
