The Simpsons: German gadget designer builds Homer's hammer
In yet another case of life echoing The Simpsons, a German gadget designer has created a working version of Homer's hammer.
It was that 1998 episode entitled The Wizard of Evergreen Terrace when Homer became depressed about his life and lack of achievement and he then decided to emulate the inventor Thomas Edison by building Homer's electric hammer. (Even if he eventually leaves it behind at the Thomas Edison National Historical Park to have it credited to Edison anyway.)
German laser gadget builder Patrick Priebe has created a working version of the hammer which is made mainly from aluminium and powered by an 80.5-volt, 1,000 mAh lithium-polymer battery.
