You can easily share tweets in direct messages

Daniel Anderson

Twitter has updated their user interface to make it much easier to share a tweet from your feed straight into a direct message

Twitter is expanding its user interface to make it a little easier to interact with your connections via direct message. Now a press of the envelope icon on any tweet instantly opens it up in the direct message tab. From there you can send it to one or a bunch of people with your own comment attached.

Like so.

This Message button certainly streamlines the original way of opening up an item in DM, and was no doubt influenced by the increase in direct messaging in 2015, with Twitter reporting an upsurge of 60 percent in people chatting directly. They've been adding functionality to DMs over the last while, with GIFs and emoji, as well as massively increasing the character limit for these conversations.

The new update is available now on iOS and Android, so go forth and update your apps and get chatting.
