Xperia Z5 to get Android Marshmallow in January

Sony's Xperia Z5 range looks likely to get the Android Marshmallow in January, according to a leaker with a credible history.

Sony's line-up of Xperia Z5 handsets looks set to get upgraded to Android Marshmallow in January.

The news comes courtesy of leaker Ricciolo who has a pretty good track record. Taking to Twitter, they posted "As i said,an update has come yesterday, #marshmallow READY next month for #sony #z5 family..older #xperia models to follow shortly.. ;)"

In keeping with tradition, the update will first be made available on Sony's most recent flagship smartphones with other handsets to follow in due course.

Devices expected to receive the update to Android Marshmallow after the Xperia Z5 range include the Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact, Xperia Z2, Xperia M5, Xperia C5 Ultra, Xperia M4 Aqua, Xperia C4, Xperia Z4 Tablet, Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact and Xperia Z2 Tablet.

Sony is yet to make an official announcement regarding the release of Android Marshmallow on its Xperia handset range.
