Xiaomi launches Mi5 smartphone
Xiaomi has announced the Mi5 smartphone, which will boast the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. Will it be released outside of Asia?
Xiaomi has unveiled its latest flagship smartphone, the Mi5.
The device packs Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 820 processor and 4GB RAM. The Mi5 features a 5.15-inch screen, is 7.25mm thick, and weighs just 129g. It boasts a 16MP rear-facing camera, a USB Type-C charging port, and in-built storage starting at 32GB.
The Mi5 will be available in black, white, and gold, and will be the first Xiaomi device to feature a fingerprint sensor on the front and a physical home button.
Xiaomi announced that the device will be released in China on March 1st. There's no release date for the western world, and Xiaomi's devices tend not to get widespread releases; hopefully that changes with this device.
