Xbox neXt spotted on Microsoft employee CV
A Microsoft employee has revealed that they are working on something called the Xbox neXt in a listing on their LinkedIn CV.
A visual designer at Microsoft is working on a new Xbox, which is referred to as Xbox neXt on their LinkedIn profile.
The employee has acted as Visual Design Lead on the Xbox One, Xbox SmartGlass, and Xbox 360 since 2008, according to Videogamer.com. And, of course, they have most recently been working on this new mysterious Xbox.
There are rumblings that both Microsoft and Sony are working on new models of their respective consoles. Microsoft's Phil Spencer has spoken about the possibility of a more powerful console, but has dismissed notions that it would be a half-step up.
"I don't know anything about any of the [PS4K] rumours that are out there, but I can understand other teams' motivations to do that," he said. "For us, our box is doing well. It performs, it's reliable, the servers are doing well. If we're going to go forward with anything, like I said, I want it to be a really substantial change for people – an upgrade."
It's unlikely that Xbox neXt will be the official name of the console, but we may see a new Xbox console revealed at E3 this summer.
