Microsoft is getting set to release the mobile version of its new Windows 10 operating system but has run into delays

Windows 10 has been out on desktop over half a year now, and the general reception has been positive. However the OS is supposed to be just part of a wider ecosystem for the company, bringing in desktop, mobile, tablet and even games consoles.

One part of that puzzle is Windows 10 Mobile, which was supposed to roll out wide in 2015. That deadline was missed, and the versions of the software which are out in the wild right now aren't yet final. Now it seems the mobile operating system won't be ready for a few weeks yet.

Microsoft has confirmed that it might be mid February before their flagship devices finally get the latest version of Windows 10 Mobile, and only if there are no further issues. It's a major release, especially when you consider the deep connections to other platforms and elements like the shared app store, so the company will want to make sure everything is in place before release.

More as we get it.
