Uncharted 4 day one patch already released - making life easier for thieves
Uncharted 4 from Naughty Dog has been released early in some areas and now the day one patch has also become available
We already reported that Uncharted 4 had been released early by some retailers, and in fact a large shipment of the game was stolen a full two weeks before the title was set to launch.
Now it seems that those who have managed to get their hands on the game through legal or illegal means will have access to a lot of the final content for the retail release, because the day one patch is also live.
Accounts are emerging online of player who have picked up Uncharted 4 and started playing, only to find that there's a major patch waiting for them on the PS4. It comes in at around 5 gigs and includes photo mode, character model viewer, a way to choose to load individual levels in single player and also adds the multiplayer option.
Now we don't yet know if the servers are actually online to support competitive play, and there won't be many users for matches, but it seems like Naughty Dog had pretty much everything ready to go a good while before the official launch.
That's all the more strange given that the developer announced a delay from the 26th of April to the 10th of May quite recently. If they were already so close to finishing why put the release back at all? In this case it seems like everything was ready, and that will mean more spoilers online and a lot of folks who have already had their fill of the title by the time it actually launches.
The police have been contacted in relation to the stolen shipment but there's no word on Sony closing own accounts for those who try to play the game early.
