TinderSocial is a new feature that matches groups for fun and frolics

Daniel Anderson

Tinder has launched a new feature called TinderSocial which is all about bringing groups of people together for a night out

Tinder wants to go beyond dating to be at the heart of your social life, and it's introducing a new feature to help.

TinderSocial is like the regular version of the app but is all about matching groups with other groups. You create a collection of a bunch of your pals with images and if another group likes it you get matched. From there you can interact and chat and maybe sort out a time and place to meet.

The app wants to try to make it easier to find a fun group of people to hang out with, taking a bit of the randomness out of an evening of wandering from pub to pub in hopes of changing upon a like minded collection of humans with appropriate genders and intentions. And you can get to know them a little first.

TinderSocial is being tested exclusively in Australia now but the company wants to roll it out worldwide soon - according to a blog post. There's even a location element to the new user interface, so that you can share where you are to find interesting folks in the area. We'll have to wait and see if the feature has legs or if we never hear of it again!
